1942 — About this game
Super Ace heads toward Tokyo across 32 scrolling stages over sea and land. Enemies sweep through the screen in formations, forcing you to balance lining up shots with leaving room to dodge. Destroy a whole red formation and collect its POW reward for stronger fire, supporting planes or another useful effect.
The aerial loop gives a brief escape from danger, but its stock is limited. Unused loops also contribute to scoring, so saving them has a reward and a risk. This NES adaptation by Micronics keeps the focus on route reading, survival and score rather than equipment menus.
