How to Play Abadox
Quick start
Press START at the title and proceed through the opening presentation. Move away from the scenery, fire at the first blue Scorpions and collect a useful capsule. Learn the unboosted movement speed before chasing every speed-up. At game over leave CONTINUE selected and press START to retry the current stage.
Controls
D-pad: fly in eight directions. B: fire. A: change the orbit of acquired rotating barriers. START: start, pause/resume or confirm CONTINUE. On the game-over menu SELECT moves to END, then START returns to the title.
Abadox — About this game
Nazal flies in a powered suit to penetrate the giant living organism Parasitis and battle towards its core. The route starts on its surface before passing into a mouth, throat and increasingly enclosed internal passages. Horizontal stages alternate with unusual downward-scrolling sections, so the safe side of an obstacle changes with the direction of travel. Shoot the blue Scorpions to release power capsules: speed boosts affect movement, missiles add supporting fire, and weapon pickups replace the main shot. Rotating barriers and the separate protector offer different kinds of defence; use A to alter the barriers’ orbit instead of treating that button as a second gun. More speed can help collect equipment but makes the narrow passages harder to negotiate. Three lives leave little room for careless contact. Continues are unlimited, though restarting the current combat stage removes the equipment and restores the basic weapon, making a well-equipped run valuable.
