Advanced Dungeons & Dragons: Heroes of the Lance — About this game

The quest follows the Dragonlance companions into the ruined city of Xak Tsaroth, where the party must descend through a maze of rooms and recover the Disks of Mishakal from the black dragon Khisanth. This is a side-view action adventure rather than a conventional menu-driven role-playing campaign: one hero is controlled on screen while seven others wait in the party order. Each has different weapons, resilience, or magical abilities, so the formation is also a reserve of lives and tools. Walk, run, crouch, jump gaps, enter doors, and fight draconians, spiders, undead, and other enemies as you search for the route onward. The map's doors and passages are not always obvious, and losing a specialist can make later obstacles harder. Select opens the party menu, where you can change the order, cast available spells, manage equipment, and save or load. The goal is to preserve a useful front line, learn when to retreat, and collect the relics needed to complete the expedition.
