How to Play Balloon Fight (GameCube)
Quick start
Use SELECT to choose A 1-PLAYER GAME, then press START. Tap A to lift off and steer above an enemy. Follow its parachute after the first hit; do not descend so low that the fish can reach you.
Controls
Left/Right: steer horizontally. Tap A: flap once; hold B: flap repeatedly. Release the flap button to descend. Up/Down: unused. SELECT: choose a mode at the title. START: start, pause or resume. Contact from above bursts balloons; there is no separate attack button. At the title, Up/Down can also move the selection.
Balloon Fight (GameCube) — About this game
The balloons give lift, but momentum makes every approach a small steering problem. Attack an enemy from above to burst its balloon, then hit the falling parachute or the grounded enemy before it can take off again. Clearing the screen advances the phase, with a balloon-popping bonus after each three phases. Losing one balloon weakens your ascent; losing both costs a life. Lightning and the fish lurking near the water remain dangerous even when enemies are nearly gone. Two people fly simultaneously in GAME B, helping with follow-up attacks or deliberately bursting each other’s balloons. GAME C, BALLOON TRIP, replaces enemy clearing with a scrolling survival route through sparks and collectible balloons. This GameCube edition preserves the NES game’s stages and scoring rules.
