Batman Returns — About this game
The Red Triangle Circus Gang interrupts Gotham’s holiday celebrations, sending Batman into a six-stage fight against the Penguin’s forces and Catwoman. Most encounters take place on a scrolling fighting field where lining up with an opponent is as important as pressing the attack button. Punches, jump kicks, a low sliding kick and a guard give Batman several ways to handle a crowd. SELECT changes the gadget, but using it requires up plus B; a grappling hook can also reach objects overhead. Break containers to look for supplies, and remember that the spinning attack normally spends health. Batmobile combat and a Batskiboat section break up the fighting. Continuing raises an experience value that can grant more health on another attempt, with consequences for the final result. The original NES game is for one player and offers passwords to resume at a section boundary.
