Bionic Commando (Capcom Classics Mini Mix) — About this game
This entry is the US NES Bionic Commando included in the GBA compilation Capcom Classics Mini Mix. It retains the original no-jump, arm-based adventure. Handheld display scaling and the compilation menu are host functions.
The rescue of Super Joe starts on a network of helicopter routes. Before descending, choose a weapon, protection, accessory and communicator. New equipment opens options, while radio rooms provide instructions or intercepted conversations. Some doors depend on information from those rooms, and the receiver must work in the area you entered.
On the ground, the arm handles climbing and swinging instead of an ordinary jump. Find a platform to latch onto before crossing a gap, then shorten the cable or use the swing to reach the next foothold. Collecting dropped bullets gradually increases the damage you can withstand. Neutral zones offer information and supplies if you refrain from firing. Convoys encountered on the map trigger overhead battles where continue tokens can be earned. Area 1 gives you an initial place to learn the arm before following the wider rescue route.
