How to Play Chaos World (Japan)

Quick start

Press START at the title. Choose はじめる with A, then a story slot, one of seven classes, gender, bonus attributes and a name. Select おわる after assigning attributes. Leave the opening house, visit the king upstairs in Rodetia castle and complete his basement-monster task before seeking the cure. Stay at an inn to save; on the next visit choose the same story record.

Controls

D-Pad moves and chooses entries. A confirms, examines your feet or talks to someone nearby; hold A during battle to slow its display. B cancels, including name characters; hold B during battle to interrupt and change party order or formation. SELECT opens the status/equipment command window. START opens the title’s story selection. Choose たたかう to begin automatic combat and さくせん to arrange it.

Chaos World (Japan) — About this game

A sick princess draws the child of a famous adventurer into royal service. Choosing a class, gender and starting attributes gives the journey its first strategic decision, but the wider adventure soon depends on companions and the guild. Four characters travel together; others can be recruited, called from another town or assigned work that suits their abilities. Jobs can supply rewards and information, and some are needed to advance the main investigation. A day and night cycle gives travel and waiting a practical role.

Battles run automatically after you choose a formation and approach. Preparation therefore matters: equip suitable weapons and spells, carry remedies and consider who is standing in each position. Holding B interrupts the action so you can revise the arrangement instead of watching a poor plan play out. The story moves beyond the search for a cure into conflicts between nations and a spreading faith. This is the Japanese Famicom original, not an English fan translation. It has three story records, and staying at an inn saves the current party state; keep that routine in mind before ending a session.
