How to Play Donkey Kong 3
Quick start
Use SELECT to choose 1 PLAYER GAME A, then START. Move underneath Donkey Kong, tap A or B to spray and use Up to step onto a higher tier. Break off to intercept a bee heading for the flowers rather than firing only at the centre.
Controls
Left/Right: move along a tier. Up: jump to a higher tier; Down: jump to a lower tier. A or B: spray upward. SELECT: title selections, including player count and A/B difficulty. START on controller 1: start, pause or resume. A is not the jump button in this game.
Donkey Kong 3 — About this game
Stanley defends a greenhouse with a spray can instead of climbing after a captive. Move between the tiers to shoot upward: enough hits push Donkey Kong toward the top, but chasing the gorilla alone lets bees raid the flowers below. A round ends when Donkey Kong is driven out or all the bees are defeated, and the three layouts then repeat with growing opposition. Flowers that survive add bonus points. Pushing the gorilla to the hanging power can knocks it down for Stanley to collect, granting a temporary stronger spray. Some crawling enemies are only stunned by ordinary shots and soon recover; larger bees need two hits and scatter dangerous fragments. GAME A and the harder GAME B support one player or two alternating turns.
