How to Play Dragon Scroll: Yomigaerishi Maryuu

Quick start

Use SELECT to highlight START at the title and confirm with START. After the introduction, practice firing the starting staff with A in the forest; strike unusual rocks or statues to seek clues. An early cave hides a silver ring that speeds movement: wait between its two statues for the chest to appear. At game over write down the password; title CONTINUE is also selected with SELECT and START.

Controls

D-Pad moves in four directions and selects window entries. A fires the equipped staff; B casts selected magic. SELECT opens status/equipment windows: A advances pages, D-Pad selects STICK or MAGIC and B returns to play. Title choices use SELECT then START. For passwords use D-Pad/A to enter, B to erase, and A after the final character.

Dragon Scroll: Yomigaerishi Maryuu — About this game

Feram is the Gold Dragon given human form to recover eight stolen books and stop the awakening Chrome Dragon. The adventure unfolds across forests, desert, marshes, lakes and mountains, with direct movement and staff attacks on the same overhead field. Defeating enemies builds experience, but progress also depends on finding objects and learning what unusual landmarks conceal. Striking inhabitants or statues can uncover information rather than simply produce another fight.

Your staff fires projectiles instead of acting as a sword. Stronger staves require both discovery and sufficient levels: the fire staff needs level 5 and the magic-bullet staff level 8. Magic likewise needs its associated item and enough MP. Bells that change rain, darkness or time help solve environmental obstacles, so revisit suspicious places with new abilities. A crystal ball unlocks additional status pages showing the three thieves’ locations. The original Japanese cartridge uses passwords shown after game over; record one and enter it through CONTINUE to resume, rather than looking for an inn save.
