The hero’s role is fixed, but the other three places can be filled with adventurers whose names, sexes and classes you choose. A durable Soldier, a healing Pilgrim and a spellcasting Wizard offer a straightforward first team, while other combinations change how resources and turns are spent. Equipment and items belong to individual characters, so passing a weapon is only the first step: its new owner must equip it. Day and night alter town activity, making return visits useful when a clue seems incomplete. Later, class changes let eligible companions start again at level one while retaining learned spells, trading immediate strength for new possibilities. Towns, towers and sea routes gradually open a wider search, with inns, banks and regular recording of the adventure supporting longer expeditions. Visit a king to save; the cartridge holds three Adventure Logs.
