How to Play Legacy of the Wizard (Namco Museum Archives Vol. 2)
Quick start
Press START, point to a playable family member with the D-Pad and confirm A. Pochi is useful for an initial scouting trip. In the equipment room stand by an available usable item and press A to pack it; leave through the bottom. Learn the route down into the dungeon and return home before exhausting supplies. At home select grandmother with A and copy the password; later select grandfather, enter with D-Pad/A, use the left-arrow symbol to correct and the curved arrow to confirm. SELECT cancels entry. After defeat select CONTINUE with SELECT and confirm START.
Controls
Left/right walk; up/down climb ladders and enter/leave shops or inns. A jumps and uses the selected equipped item. B fires the magic weapon in the D-Pad direction, including diagonals. SELECT opens active-item selection: choose among three slots with the D-Pad, then SELECT or A returns. START pauses and displays carried items. Characters change at home; packed equipment changes at home or an inn.

This English edition is included in the 2020 Namco Museum Archives Vol. 2 collection. Its family expeditions, four crowns and in-game grandparent password system remain the focus of the adventure.
A dragon’s scale warns a woodcutter’s family that an old threat may return. Four hidden crowns protect the sword needed to destroy it. Explore a connected side-view dungeon by sending one family member at a time from the house: father moves particular blocks with gloves, mother uses wings and magical tools, daughter jumps well and uses a mattock, and Pochi can scout without ordinary monster contact hurting him. The son alone can wield Dragon Slayer for the final task. Return home to change the active adventurer.
Each trip allows three equipped items, with restrictions on who can use them. Select the active tool carefully: wings, block puzzles and breakable passages turn equipment into navigation. Bread restores life, potions restore magic, keys unlock obstacles and gold pays shops or inns. Inns restore resources and allow equipment changes, but returning to the family home is the important continuation point. Ask grandmother for a password there and enter it through grandfather in a later session. Game-over CONTINUE restores the last home-return state; RETRY begins afresh.
