How to Play Power Blade

Quick start

Press START, choose Normal with the directional pad and press START to begin. Select Sector 1 and explore its branches until you meet the agent and receive an ID card. Use A for jumps and aim a B throw upward or diagonally before approaching flying enemies. Press START to select grenades or the energy tank on the status screen, then resume. Find the security-room door after making contact.

Controls

Left/right moves; up/down climbs ladders. A jumps; hold it for a longer jump. B throws the boomerang in the held direction; on ladders it fires sideways. START begins, pauses and opens status. On status, use the pad to select grenade or energy tank, START to return and SELECT to use the selected item.

Power Blade — About this game

Finding the boss door is only half the job. Each of the six initial sectors hides an agent whose ID card grants access to its security room. Defeating the guard earns a tape unit, and collecting all six opens the final Control Center. Nova can tackle those sectors in any order, exploring platforms and ladders while a timer counts down. His boomerang can travel in eight directions off ladders, and pickups improve its reach, strength or the number thrown at once. A Metal Suit adds three protective hits and a powerful shot that passes through walls. Grenades and a full-recovery energy tank provide another decision: choose the active item on the paused status screen, then use SELECT during play. Normal mode gives more time and avoids the hit knockback of Expert. Passwords shown after losing the last life allow a later return; they are separate from a battery save. This Western version extensively redesigns the maps and movement of Japan’s Power Blazer.
