River City Ransom — About this game
The city is more than a line of fights. Streets, parks and shopping districts connect, allowing you to revisit an area, earn cash and prepare before taking on a stronger gang leader. Punches, kicks and running jumps are joined by pipes, crates and other objects that can be swung or thrown. Defeated opponents leave money for food, equipment and technique books; these purchases can improve attributes as well as help you recover. Read the messages from bosses, because the next encounter may require returning to an earlier location rather than continuing straight ahead. Two players can roam and fight together, with care needed around a partner’s attacks. The menu exposes belongings, status, difficulty and a password recording character development, rather than a complete save of the cleared story route.
