How to Play Rockin’ Kats
Quick start
Press START at the title, choose Channel1 with the D-pad and select YES. Head right through Downtown Street, using A to jump and B to punch before touching enemies. Try aiming upward at the awning above the green doors: B grabs it, another B starts the spin and the next B launches Willy. Collect money bags for the shop rather than rushing past every pickup.
Controls
Left/right moves, down ducks, down+A drops through suitable platforms. A jumps; hold it to use equipped Jet Sneakers. B fires the Punch Gun, aimed with the D-pad, including downward directions in the air. B grabs an anchor; press again to spin and again to launch. Hold B to catch a falling object, release to throw. Jump, aim down and press B near the floor to bounce higher. SELECT opens owned equipment; START starts or pauses/resumes. While paused, press A three times to return to channel selection.
Rockin’ Kats — About this game
Willy sets out to rescue Jill from the canine gangster Mugsy, carrying a weapon that doubles as a movement tool. Aim its boxing glove at enemies, attach it to overhead rails, spin around an anchor and launch toward the next ledge. Punching the ground during a jump gives extra height, while holding the attack opens a hand that can catch falling objects and throw them back. The television menu lets you tackle the first four numbered channels in any order before a fifth opens. Streets, aircraft, an amusement park and western scenery change the obstacles while the difficulty rises as channels are cleared. Money buys new weapons and Jet Sneakers from the shopping channel; a separate bonus channel offers games that can increase your funds. Mastering the basic glove remains important even after buying equipment.
