How to Play Shadow of the Ninja
Quick start
At the title, use SELECT to choose one or two players and press START. For solo play, choose Hayate or Kaede and begin. On the ship, test A, jump to an overhang and press up while hanging to climb onto it.
Controls
Pad: move; down: duck. A: jump, hold for more height; down+A: drop through a platform. Hanging: up climbs, A lets go. B: current weapon; direction+B aims the chain upward. Hold B for lightning that consumes health. START starts/pauses; SELECT chooses players at the title.
Shadow of the Ninja — About this game
The mission begins among derelict ships and continues through sewers, rooftops and two fortresses. Five broad stages contain changing sections and boss encounters. A lone player can choose either ninja, while two people act simultaneously on the same screen. Both characters share the original game’s basic abilities, so learning the terrain matters more than choosing a different fighter.
The katana covers nearby targets; the chain weapon reaches farther and can strike upward. Limited throwing weapons temporarily replace the main weapon, so watch the remaining supply. Jumping to a suitable overhang lets you hang beneath it and climb onto the upper floor. Use this route to approach enemies from another height rather than exchanging damage head-on. Health must last between recovery items: an empty bar ends the attempt, and continues are limited. On the first ship, practise different jump heights and climbing from an overhang, then open item containers before pushing into crowded platforms.
