How to Play The Goonies
Quick start
Press START to begin. Jump the opening gap with A and kick the mouse with B to obtain a bomb. Return to a skull-marked cell, place the bomb with down+B and move clear while keeping the cell visible until it opens. Search the first area for three keys and its captive child before taking the exit.
Controls
Left/right moves; up climbs ladders or vines and enters skull passages. Down descends or crouches. A jumps, B kicks or fires an acquired slingshot; down+B places a bomb when carrying one. A+B performs a jumping kick or shot. START begins and pauses/resumes. This is a single-player game; SELECT is unused.
The Goonies — About this game
The Famicom adventure sends a lone rescuer through six stages from the Fratelli hideout toward a pirate ship. Progress requires searching rather than simply reaching the far side: collect three keys, free the captive child and locate the exit. Defeating certain enemies produces a bomb, which opens the stone cells that hide the necessary items. A cell must stay on screen until the explosion, so running ahead immediately can waste the attempt. Ladders, vines and skull passages connect routes through caves and other traps. A limited slingshot provides ranged attacks, while hidden protective equipment can reduce specific hazards. You need the first five rescued children before the final stage, where the last captive girl awaits. Finding the exit quickly matters, but leaving a friend behind defeats the larger rescue plan.
