Zelda no Densetsu 1: The Hyrule Fantasy — About this game
Link begins with a shield and an open landscape, not a weapon or a marked itinerary. A sword waits in the cave on the first screen; after that, caves, shops and dungeon entrances invite investigation in several directions. Progress depends on finding equipment and understanding what it changes. Bombs can open particular walls, a raft reaches certain landings and dungeon tools make earlier obstacles worth revisiting. Inside each labyrinth, keys, secret passages, the map and compass help turn disconnected rooms into a route to its treasure and boss. The eight Triforce fragments provide the larger objective before Ganon's final dungeon, but gathering money and stronger equipment can be as useful as moving straight to the next entrance. Keep track of suspicious places and conserve finite supplies. The cartridge has named game files: choosing SAVE at game over records progress, while CONTINUE resumes the current attempt. This is the 1994 Japanese cartridge edition titled Zelda no Densetsu 1, rather than the original disk release.
