How to Play Tiny Toon Adventures

Quick start

Press START at the title. At Shirley’s selection, choose a partner with left/right and confirm with A. Begin as Buster: practise a short A jump and a longer held jump before adding B to run. Pop balloons and pick up a Toon-A-Round to change character. Save your heart for hazards and look for Hamton’s door when carrying thirty carrots.

Controls

Left/right moves; down crouches, and down while running slides except with Dizzy. A jumps; hold for height. B with a direction runs, while Dizzy uses B and left/right to spin. In water, tap A to swim and B to attack; up+A leaves the water. Plucky taps A in the air to glide. Furrball uses toward-wall+A to climb. START pauses; SELECT is unused.

Tiny Toon Adventures — About this game

Buster’s rescue trip across Acme Acres rewards choosing a companion as well as timing a jump. Before a world, pick Plucky, Dizzy or Furrball; a Toon-A-Round found during the stage changes between Buster and that chosen partner. Plucky can prolong a leap and swim freely, Dizzy breaks through obstacles with his spin, and Furrball climbs walls. Their abilities offer different ways through the fields, sea, woods and city. Carrots are worth collecting for Hamton’s extra lives, while a heart protects against one hit. Avoid Elmyra until an exit appears: being caught sends you back. Five keys are needed to reach Monty’s mansion, with Wackyland making you gather five scattered Gogos rather than defeat a normal boss. The original NES game is a single-player adventure with continues.
