How to Play Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Quick start
Choose one- or two-turtle mode with SELECT and press START. Pick a turtle with the D-pad and confirm with A; both controllers choose in two-player mode. In the burning building, try B to attack and A to jump. Move up or down to avoid being surrounded, then use a jump kick to re-enter safely.
Controls
D-pad: move in the scene, including diagonals. A: jump or confirm a turtle. B: weapon attack. Press A, then B with Left/Right for a jump kick; A+B together performs the strong attack. SELECT: player count or CONTINUE/END; START confirms the selection and begins play.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles — About this game
This NES conversion follows a street-brawling route rather than the first NES game’s exploration. Move across the width and depth of each scene, clear the attackers and continue toward the next boss. Enemies approach from several directions, so changing your vertical position can be safer than walking directly into an attack. A weapon strike, a jumping kick and the combined-button strong attack give different ways to break up a crowd. Take a hit and your energy falls; pizza restores it, making recovery worth sharing carefully when two people play. The home version adds a snowy area and a dojo encounter beyond the arcade route. Two players can fight together, choosing different turtles at the start, but cannot change their selected character midway through the game. Space, timing and covering a partner matter more than repeatedly pressing attack. The Japanese Famicom edition is titled Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles without II; it is this arcade conversion, separate from Gekikame Ninja Den.
