Zoda’s Revenge: StarTropics II — About this game

A mysterious inscription and an old book send Mike from Seattle into the past. His journey passes through the Stone Age, Egypt and other historical settings, where conversations with local people and famous figures reveal the next objective. Outside the battle areas, exploration gathers information; inside caves and buildings, quick positioning and weapon choice take over. Unlike the first StarTropics, Mike can move diagonally and adjust his direction during a jump, giving narrow crossings and enemy approaches a different rhythm.

The initial rocks give way to weapons such as Tink’s Axe, Cleopatra’s dagger and Leonardo’s katana. Merlin teaches the Psychic Shock Wave later, so it is not a starting ability. Limited-use items and remaining hearts still require care as Mike solves room mechanisms and faces bosses. The adventure has nine chapters: the first establishes the story through dialogue before the first playable journey in chapter two. Major accomplishments trigger automatic progress saving. REVIEW MODE returns to completed chapters without replacing the main saved progress.
