How to Play New Ghostbusters II (USA Prototype)
Quick start
Press START, choose the lead character with the D-pad and A, then select the following partner. Begin in the courthouse. Line up a ghost, use A to freeze it and wait for your partner to reach it before pressing B. Follow the arrow after clearing the room. If the partner gets caught behind an obstacle, reposition instead of rushing ahead alone.
Controls
D-pad: move the lead character. A: fire the beam to stun a ghost. B: make the following partner use the trap. START: begin/pause. On character selection, use the D-pad to highlight a member and A to confirm, choosing the beamer before the trapper.
New Ghostbusters II (USA Prototype) — About this game
HAL's New Ghostbusters II follows a simple but distinctive capture routine. Choose a lead Ghostbuster and a partner from the five available members, move the leader into position and immobilize a ghost with the proton beam. The second character approaches on their own; trigger the trap once they are lined up. Clearing every ghost in an area reveals an arrow to the next room, and major enemies test your timing at the end of stages. The partner cannot be hurt, but the leader must still avoid ghosts, projectiles and moving hazards. Careful positioning matters more than firing constantly, particularly when walls or doorways delay your assistant. This is the overhead HAL game rather than Activision's unrelated side-scrolling adaptation.
