How to Play Ōkamiden
Quick start
Choose a difficulty and follow the opening to Yakushi Village. Use the Celestial Brush to draw a circle in the sky and restore the sun. In Kamiki Village, meet Sakuya, trace the dragon outline to learn Rejuvenation and outline the damaged tree to repair it. Examine three petrified villagers, briefly enter Shinshu Field, then return to the high platform and draw the sun again. Kuni joins later, before the Cave of Nagi lessons.
Controls
Move with the D-pad, jump with B, attack with Y and use A to interact. Press L or R to enter Celestial Brush mode, then draw the required pattern on the Touch Screen; the brush also supports holding the shoulder button. Once a partner joins, X sets them down or picks them up. Rejuvenation, Guidance and Power Slash must be learned in their tutorial events; use Guidance for partner routes only after it is introduced.
Ōkamiden — About this game
Ōkamiden follows the wolf cub Chibiterasu through a world inspired by Japanese legends. Direct movement and real-time attacks are paired with the Celestial Brush: summon it to pause the scene and draw on the DS Touch Screen, turning simple shapes into powers that affect the surroundings or enemies. Companions ride on Chibiterasu's back, then help with obstacles that the cub cannot solve alone. Their weight and abilities become part of environmental puzzles, especially when a partner must take a separate route. New brush techniques expand exploration as the adventure continues, so noticing broken scenery and the relationship between switches matters as much as winning battles.
