How to Play Open Season
Quick start
Start the first forest level, learn each character's movement and locate an obstacle. Switch to the useful ability, get both through the opened route and finish the level to keep progress.
Controls
Directional pad and buttons move, handle objects and perform actions. Touch the character icons to switch or set following. Hold L and use supported microphone input for Boog's roar; hold L and tap the touch screen to build Elliot's charge.
Open Season — About this game
Open Season on DS is a puzzle-led side-scrolling adventure through paths that also enter the foreground and background. Boog handles heavy objects and can throw Elliot toward switches; Elliot jumps, distracts enemies with a dance and charges into obstacles. Alternate control or let Elliot follow while working out which ability opens the next route. Begin by moving both characters through the first area and testing a switch rather than rushing one hero to the exit. Friendly animals can also be thrown to stun threats. Microphone roaring and touch-powered charging add DS-specific actions, while solo touch mini-games provide a break from the main journey. This version's teamwork and spatial puzzles define the route through the forest.
