Controls
The directional pad moves, jumps, crouches and guards when held away from the opponent. I and II provide punch and kick attacks; holding a button changes strength. Directional motions add special moves.

Ryu or Ken travels through the original Street Fighter tournament in a one-on-one fighting game. The PC Engine CD version uses two attack buttons, with the length of a press determining attack strength instead of providing six separate strength buttons. Learn that rhythm before trying the directional commands for special moves. Guarding, distance and the recovery after a missed attack remain essential, since an opponent can punish a powerful move that fails to connect. The arranged soundtrack accompanies a set of increasingly difficult opponents whose patterns reward a measured response rather than constant button pressing.
