How to Play Gain Ground SX
Quick start
Study the first arena, compare the available fighters' attacks and work toward an exit route while rescuing stranded characters when safe.
Controls
Use the directional pad to move the selected fighter. I and II perform that character's two attacks. Choose a fighter before entering the stage; RUN starts or pauses.

A deadly computer-controlled contest traps people inside its arenas, and a growing group of fighters must defeat the system. Each compact stage can be cleared by eliminating the enemies or bringing the active survivors to the exit. Characters have different attacks and ranges, making a rescued fighter a practical new tool rather than just another life. Choose someone suited to the remaining threat, watch the angle of enemy fire and avoid sacrificing a useful character to a rushed advance. The challenge lies in matching the roster to the layout and deciding when an escape is safer than another attack.
