How to Play Hypernova Blast
Quick start
Select a ship and begin the defence. Locate the four cities, learn their status display and intercept attackers near the weakest settlement while watching your own remaining energy.
Controls
The direction pad pilots the craft. I and II operate its laser and bomb actions. RUN starts or pauses play.
Hypernova Blast — About this game
Defend four domed cities from alien ships while managing the energy shared between your fighter and the settlements below. You choose a craft and patrol a horizontally scrolling battlefield, using its weapons to intercept attackers before the cities fall. The dilemma is that helping a weakened city can leave less energy for your own survival. Losing the fighter or allowing every city to be destroyed ends the defence, so focusing only on the nearest enemy is not enough. Keep checking the state of the settlements and return to the most threatened area before it becomes impossible to save. The game reworks the city-defence idea of Nova Blast into a later PC Engine homebrew release.
