Take a Japanese club into a football match where building an attack requires both movement off the ball and timely decisions in possession. Work the ball through open space, change direction when a defender closes in and look for a clear shooting lane instead of attempting every shot from distance. The pitch gives you room to stretch the opposition, but a misplaced pass can quickly leave your own defence exposed. When possession changes, bring a defender between the ball carrier and the goal before trying to win the ball back. Match settings and team selection let you establish the contest before kick-off. Learn the speed of a pass in the opening exchanges, then use that timing to link a more deliberate attack.
