How to Play Martial Champion
Quick start
Choose a fighter and check the button configuration before the opening bout. Practice blocking, a short attack and a longer-reaching attack, then punish an opponent after a missed strike.
Controls
The direction pad moves, jumps and crouches; holding away from the opponent blocks. Action buttons perform the configured high, middle and low attacks. Use directional combinations for special moves.
Martial Champion — About this game
Martial Champion brings an international cast into a fighting tournament where reach and attack height shape each exchange. The roster includes martial artists and weapon users, so standing at a comfortable distance for one fighter can be dangerous against another. Attacks aimed high, in the middle or low create different openings, and jumping can both evade an opponent and expose you to a counterattack. The PC Engine adaptation translates the arcade contest to the console’s controller, with options that support its available button arrangements. A useful first goal is to recognize the range of ordinary attacks before attempting special techniques. Winning a round depends on choosing safe moments to advance rather than continually pressing forward.
