How to Play Master of Monsters
Quick start
Choose a wizard and open the first campaign map. Inspect terrain and enemy positions before summoning, then move a small group together so isolated units cannot be surrounded.
Controls
Use the direction pad to move the cursor across hexes and menus. Confirm selects units, destinations, attacks and summons; cancel backs out. End the turn through the command menu.
Master of Monsters — About this game
Five rival wizards offer different combinations of creatures and magic in a struggle for control of a leaderless realm. Battles unfold in turns on hexagonal maps, where terrain, movement range and the strengths of each monster affect an encounter. Summoning the largest possible army is only part of the problem: units must support one another and survive long enough to become more valuable. Campaign play carries surviving forces forward, making a costly victory something to reconsider rather than automatically celebrate. Individual maps also offer a way to concentrate on a single tactical situation. Learning the selected wizard’s available summons is the first step toward an army that can answer different opponents instead of depending on one creature type.
