The direction pad moves Conan and controls his position during jumps. The action buttons attack and jump. RUN starts or pauses the action.
Mirai Shounen Conan — About this game
Conan’s adventure takes place after a devastating war has left much of the Earth underwater. The boy’s island upbringing gives way to encounters with a wider world and the people struggling over its future. The PC Engine game presents that journey through side-scrolling action, with jumps, enemies and obstacles interrupting the route between story scenes. Moving confidently requires attention to the shape of the next platform as well as the enemy immediately in front of Conan. A hurried attack near an edge can be more dangerous than the opponent itself. The anime setting supplies the characters and dramatic stakes, while the moment-to-moment challenge is reading the terrain and reaching the next part of the journey.
