Lords of the Rising Sun — About this game

Rising Sun, known in English as Lords of the Rising Sun, places the player in the conflict between the Minamoto and Taira clans. A campaign map provides the larger struggle over territory and forces, while selected encounters ask for direct action such as defending against an assassin or dealing with a siege. The two layers depend on one another: a successful personal encounter cannot repair a campaign position that has been neglected. Watch the location of armies, consider alliances and avoid committing to several unsupported fronts. The setting follows a different period from Nobunaga’s Sengoku campaigns, with the family conflict shaping the player’s objectives. Learning when the game changes interfaces is part of directing the broader war.
