A sequence of character matches provides the setting for familiar Japanese mahjong decisions. Early draws suggest several possible hand shapes, but choosing which one to pursue requires attention to the tiles that remain useful. Watch the visible discards as well as your own hand: an opponent close to completion can make a formerly harmless tile expensive. Calls speed up some routes and close others, so read the scoring implications before opening the hand. The character presentation marks progress between exchanges, while success at the table comes from completing legal combinations and knowing when to abandon an unlikely attack for safer defense.
