A dying messenger brings news that the boundary separating the demon realm from the human world has failed. Latok’s journey connects the struggle against that invasion with questions about his own heritage and his missing father. Towns, hostile routes, and story scenes lead the player through an action-role-playing campaign where equipment and experience affect direct encounters with monsters. Read new information before leaving a settlement, and test an unfamiliar enemy from a position that leaves room to retreat. The Xak sword gives the story its focus, but steady progress also depends on maintaining supplies and recognizing when the party needs preparation before another dangerous area.
