How to Play Xak I + II
Quick start
Begin the first adventure, speak to the opening townspeople, and equip Latok before entering dangerous ground. Fight manageable enemies and return for supplies before moving farther.
Controls
The direction pad moves Latok; contact with an enemy triggers the field attack. I confirms or interacts and II cancels. Use the command menu for equipment, items, and saving.
Xak I + II — About this game
The first two Xak adventures are combined into one PC Engine CD journey, with the second story continuing after the first reaches its conclusion. Latok explores towns and dangerous areas, gathering equipment and information needed to face increasingly strong monsters. Combat happens directly in the field, so character growth and preparation work alongside movement rather than replacing it. A difficult enemy can signal that the next weapon or a different route should be found before pushing ahead. Speak to people after major events, keep recovery options available, and learn the reach of an encounter before committing to a narrow passage with no room to withdraw.
