How to Play Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney
Quick start
Start a new game and choose The First Turnabout. Follow Mia's courtroom guidance and answer the opening questions using the Court Record. Read the autopsy report before cross-examining Sahwit. Move between his statements, press for details and compare his claimed discovery time with the report; present the matching evidence on the statement that contradicts it.
Controls
DS controls: tap dialogue, choices and command panels on the Touch Screen. A confirms or advances text; B cancels or returns; the D-pad selects options and moves through testimony. L presses the current statement; R opens the Court Record and changes its evidence/profile view; X presents the selected item when available. START opens the save screen. Optional microphone prompts support spoken courtroom commands; the on-screen Press and Present buttons perform those ordinary actions too. For optional spoken commands, hold Y when the microphone prompt is available.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney follows a new defense lawyer whose clients appear trapped by convincing accusations. Investigation scenes let you examine locations, talk to people and collect evidence; trials ask you to compare each witness statement with the Court Record. Pressing for details can change the testimony, while presenting the right evidence at the right statement can overturn an apparently solid account. The opening case is a courtroom tutorial, so the focus is learning how statements and evidence fit together. The DS edition also includes a fifth episode with additional forensic interactions. Its touch interface and optional spoken courtroom commands give you different ways to make the same deductions.
