How to Play Pinball
Quick start
Use SELECT to move the title-screen asterisk to a one- or two-player game, choosing Game A for an easier introduction, then press START. Hold A or B to compress the launcher spring and release to send the ball onto the table; longer holds give a stronger launch. Use the D-pad for the left flipper and A or B for the right. If you enter the Mario bonus screen, switch to left/right movement and keep the platform under the ball.
Controls
SELECT: choose the title-screen game. START: begin, pause or resume. Hold and release A or B at the launcher: set launch strength and shoot the ball. During table play, A or B operates the right flipper and the D-pad operates the left flipper. On the bonus screen, D-pad left/right moves Mario; up/down is unused there. Player two uses the second controller when their turn arrives.
Pinball — About this game
Pinball makes timing and ball control the route to a better score. The upper and lower table screens contain bumpers, targets, cards and other features that reward carefully placed rebounds. Turning over the five cards can raise a protective post, while lining up three chicks gives another way to guard against a lost ball. A special hole leads to Mario’s bonus screen: move his platform to rebound the ball, change the lamps and open a gap in the floor above. Catch the falling woman and take her safely to the exit for a large bonus. Game A is the easier starting point; Game B offers a tougher challenge. The two-player option is a score contest with alternating turns, not two players controlling the same ball.
