How to Play Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest
Quick start
Choose New Game and play the opening training stage as Captain Jack Sparrow. Learn to jump across gaps, block incoming blows, slash the first enemies, use switches and open treasure chests until the route to your ship is clear. After the tutorial, board the Black Pearl and use the world map to sail between islands. Follow the main mission marker first, but search side routes and chests for gold and upgrades; improving Jack's attacks and the Pearl's hull, sails, rudder and cannons makes later sword fights and ship-to-ship battles much safer.
Controls
Control Pad: move Jack; steer the Black Pearl or move the cursor in menus. A: jump and confirm. B: sword attack and cancel. L: use the selected item. R: block. SELECT: pause menu. START: inventory menu. During naval battles, follow the HUD prompts for positioning and cannon fire; upgrades and newly learned attacks are managed through the inventory/shop screens. These are GBA controls, not the DS or PSP layouts.
