Select ``NEW GAME'' as the title, press START, and choose the main character from Sayo-chan, Majyuka, and Miki-chan. In the first chapter, go north, exorcise the shrine on the left to get a strengthening item, and shoot at the dead end on the right for a crescendo. Deal with the enemies and shrine beyond the torii gate, pick up the boss's key on the path leading to the right, and head to Karasu Tengu's room. Karasu Tengu aims for the head and avoids the three-directional bullet that slowly spreads out. If you have blue range enhancement, you can get distance. Crescendo doesn't work on bosses, so use it when you're surrounded on the way.

Use the cross keys to move in 8 directions and select menus. Use A to throw Sayo-chan/Miki-chan's amulet, the leaf of the demonization tree. Press B to perform a melee attack with the gohei/tail, dispelling small fry and bouncing off many enemy bullets (fireballs, flames, and lightning cannot be reflected). Use L or R to use Crescendo once to wipe out normal enemies on the screen. Select item/pause with START. You can restart by entering the chapter password from the PASSWORD in the title.
