How to Play Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team
Quick start
Answer the personality quiz, choose a partner and give your hero a name. Follow Butterfree’s request into Tiny Woods and rescue Caterpie, using the opening messages to learn movement and attacks. After returning, name the rescue team and save at the bed in your base. Check the mailbox for the next request and prepare before leaving again.
Controls
Move with the D-pad; A confirms, talks or makes a regular attack. X opens the menu; B cancels selections and also opens the dungeon menu. In dungeons, Y changes facing without moving, R plus a direction moves diagonally, L+A uses the set move and L+R throws set ammo. SELECT shows the dungeon map. The Touch Screen also supports movement and menu selection.

You awaken as a Pokémon with memories of being human and a new partner ready to help. Blue Rescue Team follows your efforts to aid Pokémon troubled by natural disasters while investigating your transformation. Dungeon floors rearrange between visits, and movement and attacks advance a shared turn rhythm. Positioning, type matchups, move PP and a stock of food matter as much as levels. Back in Pokémon Square, prepare supplies and take new jobs; later, Friend Areas provide homes for Pokémon recruited to your growing team.
