How to Play Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time
Quick start
Complete the opening quiz and aura prompt, then choose and name your partner. After waking on the beach, agree to recover the stolen Relic Fragment. Follow the stairs through Beach Cave and face Koffing and Zubat at its end. Then join Wigglytuff’s Guild, name your team and follow the first job for Spoink in Drenched Bluff. Save at your guild bed when available.
Controls
Use the D-pad to move, A to confirm, talk or attack, B to cancel and X to open the menu. In a dungeon, Y lets you turn on the spot, R plus a direction moves diagonally, L+A uses the set move and L+R throws set ammo. A+B passes a turn; SELECT displays the map. You can also tap destinations and menu commands on the Touch Screen.

Explorers of Time begins with a human transformed into a Pokémon and a nervous partner dreaming of exploration. Together you join Wigglytuff’s Guild, take jobs and investigate a crisis linked to the Time Gears. Dungeon layouts change on return visits; every step or attack advances the action, so positioning and your partner’s safety matter. Food, move PP and useful items keep an expedition going, while Treasure Town offers storage and preparation. Time and Darkness share this adventure, with differences in some Pokémon encounters and item availability.
