How to Play Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs
Quick start
Choose your protagonist and follow the opening mission in the sky above Oblivia. Circle the Pidgey until its Friendship Gauge fills, then dodge the attackers with the stylus or Control Pad. After falling into the sea, follow the chase tutorial to recover the Styler from Mantyke. The story then reaches Dolce Island; continue the local lessons rather than looking for Ranger School or drawing signs you have not learned yet.
Controls
Move with the Control Pad or touch a destination. A talks, examines and confirms; B cancels. Draw complete loops with the stylus to fill the Friendship Gauge; lift to avoid attacks, then resume before too much friendship drains. Y shows or hides companions, X lists flying destinations when relevant, L opens Sign Mode and R opens the Styler menu. START and SELECT are unused. Draw learned signs in Sign Mode when the feature becomes available.

An airborne assignment sends you into the island region of Oblivia to stop the Pokémon Pinchers. The adventure pairs Ranger missions with ruins, sea travel and a musical Pichu companion. Captures build a Friendship Gauge through complete loops, letting you lift the stylus to avoid danger before returning to the task, though waiting too long loses progress. Poké Assists now put a helper directly onto the capture field, so choosing a safe position matters. As the story advances, learned Ranger Signs can call special Pokémon to help explore. Missions and local requests gradually strengthen your Styler and reveal the islands’ mysteries.
