How to Play Populous
Quick start
Start an introductory map, flatten land beside your followers and watch a settlement form. Expand safely before trying a miracle.
Controls
Use the DS stylus to raise or lower terrain and choose orders or miracles from touch icons. Hold L while moving the stylus to scroll the landscape; small controlled movements avoid unwanted mountains.
Populous — About this game
Create flat ground so your followers can build settlements, grow stronger and support your divine powers. You influence the world rather than directly steering every person, so watch settlement space and the opposing population together. Raise or lower a small area carefully, let the followers respond and then extend another useful patch. Miracles can disrupt rivals, but building a strong population remains the basis of a good position. Begin with an introductory stage and learn terrain changes before spending power on attacks. Each map and divine attribute changes the contest, so inspect the objective and available abilities first.
