Power Blade — About this game

Power Blazer puts a small, blue-helmeted fighter against oversized robotic enemies and unforgiving platforming. This is the Japanese game that preceded the heavily reworked Power Blade, not the same adventure under a different title. Your boomerang travels horizontally, so an enemy above or below you calls for a better position rather than a diagonal shot. Its initial reach is short, and rushing attacks can leave you dangerously close to a target. Range upgrades help, but giving the power meter time to recover matters too. The returning weapon offers opportunities to catch an enemy from behind. Tight jumps, moving hazards and tough encounters reward a measured approach; charging ahead with repeated throws is rarely a safe substitute for learning the layout.
