How to Play Power Punch II
Quick start
Press START during the introduction, choose START NEW GAME with up/down and confirm with START, A or B. At Tyler’s profile press START to reach the training ship. Choose WORKOUT with up/down and confirm with A; hit the robot’s lit glove with A for a right or B for a left, adding up/down to match its height. You can choose SKIP WORKOUT instead. At the fight statistics screen, START enters the bout. Begin with controlled punches and use down to block rather than exhausting yourself with wild attacks.
Controls
A: right jab. B: left jab. Up+A/B: right/left uppercut. Down+A/B: right/left body blow. Down alone: block. Left/right: move across the ring. SELECT during a bout: use an available Power Punch. START: pause or resume; advance from the statistics screen. After a knockdown, rapidly alternate A and B to recover. In training, A/B throws right/left and up/down changes punch height; SELECT returns to the workout choices, while START pauses.
Power Punch II — About this game
Power Punch II follows Mark Tyler from earthly dominance into a championship filled with alien and cyborg opponents. Fighting is viewed from behind your boxer, with separate left and right punches and different attack heights. Moving across the ring helps you line up an opening, while blocking is useful but not a reason to stop attacking altogether. Training sessions form an important part of the challenge: strike the sparring robot’s gloves only when they light up, building consecutive hits to improve endurance, strength and agility. Better preparation makes a noticeable difference in the next bout. Matches run for three one-minute rounds and can end by knockout, technical knockout or decision. The fight statistics track landed and attempted punches, giving you a reason to favor accurate openings over frantic button presses. Opponents have their own habits and weaknesses, so getting into range and choosing the right height matters as much as throwing quickly.
