How to Play Prince of Persia
Quick start
Press START at the title. At the opening choice, move right toward New Game; the left route leads to password entry. Practice B’s single steps before approaching an edge. Use A to jump forward, or start running with left/right before A for a longer leap. Up jumps vertically or climbs a reachable ledge. Find the sword before challenging a guard, and use down while standing by an item to pick it up. Record the eight-digit password shown after completing a level.
Controls

Prince of Persia — About this game
Jaffar has seized power while the Sultan is away, imprisoned the princess’s young admirer and given her a deadly ultimatum. Starting in the dungeons without a sword, you must find a route through the palace and reach her before time expires. Hidden floor plates operate gates, unreliable tiles give way and spikes punish an uncontrolled approach. Some potions restore strength, while others are poisonous, making observation part of survival. Once armed, you must judge the distance to a guard and balance attacks with blocks. The NES adaptation also scrolls within rooms, so part of the danger may remain outside your immediate view. Learn when to run and when to advance a single step; do not assume that a cautious step automatically makes an edge safe. Passwords retain progress with the remaining time and strength, rewarding a cleaner route through earlier sections.
