How to Play R.B.I. Baseball
Quick start
Use SELECT to choose 1P, then press START. Pick your club with the D-pad and confirm with A. Press A again for a fresh run, then select a starting pitcher with the D-pad and A. A pitches on defense and swings at the plate. When fielding, move into the ball's path; after catching it, A without a direction throws to first.
Controls
D-pad: move players and select options or bases. A: swing, pitch, or throw to a selected base; direction+A returns a runner. Direction+B advances runners; while holding the ball, it sends the fielder toward that base. Before pitching, B opens the pickoff view. Up+A pitches slower, down+A faster; left/right after release adds movement. START begins play or calls time; press your side's A during time to substitute. SELECT chooses 1P, 2P, or WATCH.
R.B.I. Baseball — About this game
This is the 1986 Japanese Famicom game behind R.B.I. Baseball, with its original Japan League teams rather than the American release's rosters. Named players have different strengths, making team selection and substitutions meaningful. Pitching is more than pressing a button: changing speed and breaking the ball gives each matchup its own rhythm. Once a ball is hit, play switches to the wider field, where you move defenders and choose where to throw. The solo challenge asks you to beat the other nine clubs; a watch mode lets you observe computer-controlled games instead.
