How to Play Professor Layton and the Unwound Future
Quick start
Choose New Game and enter a name. Follow the opening explanation of the time-machine demonstration and solve the introductory puzzles. At the Midland Road bus stop, speak to the people nearby and follow the clues toward the clock shop. Tap the shoe icon to reveal the available routes and inspect the surroundings for hint coins. Use the trunk’s Save option between puzzles and Memo when you need to sketch a solution.
Controls
Tap people to talk and scenery to investigate. Tap the shoe, then an arrow or entrance marker to travel. Puzzle instructions specify whether to select, drag, draw or write an answer; submit when prompted. Hint coins pay for help. Open the trunk to Save, review the Journal or revisit solved puzzles in the Puzzle Index. A advances dialogue, D-pad up/down scrolls the Puzzle Index, and START skips a playing movie.

A letter claiming to come from Luke ten years in the future leads the professor and his apprentice toward a strange clock shop. Their investigation unfolds through a changed London, where conversations and street details conceal puzzles and clues. You solve logic problems, manipulate shapes and write answers while following the larger mystery of the future city. The memo function helps work through a puzzle without losing track of the question, and hint coins provide graded assistance. Picture-book, toy-car and parrot activities create additional challenges between the main revelations.
