How to Play Puyo Puyo
Quick start
Press A, B, or START on the title to proceed to the settings screen. First, set the PLAYER to 1P, MODE to Endless, LEVEL to 1, and start with START. Decide where to drop it on the left and right, and use A and B to change the direction of rotation. Think of an arrangement that connects four of the same color, and drop them quickly at the bottom only when you have decided where to put them. The stack will end when the third row from the left reaches the top, so don't make that row too high.
Controls
D-pad left and right: Move Puyo horizontally. Down: Makes you fall faster. Do not use the top while playing. A: Rotate 90 degrees clockwise. B: Rotate 90 degrees counterclockwise. START: Start from the settings screen, pause during play. SELECT: Displays the high score until the power is turned off on the setting screen. The password for restarting a mission midway through the mission and the password for the event after Endless are different; the latter is not for restarting the mission by entering it.
Puyo Puyo — About this game
The Famicom version of ``Puyo Puyo'' is a puzzle game where you place falling puyo by rotating them and connect four or more of the same color vertically and horizontally to eliminate them. The Puyo on top of the erased area will fall, and if you pile up other colors so that they disappear in succession, it will form a chain. In single-player endless, keep the board low and increase your score as the speed and number of colors increases. The missions consist of 52 steps, such as erasing all specified colors, and solving predetermined conditions. In a two-player game, the aim is to send jamapuyo to the opponent by mass erasing or chaining them, and filling up the opponent's board first. There is also a change to a humanoid display and settings for auxiliary items, allowing you to play with a different appearance and help from normal Puyo.
