How to Play Puzzle Expedition
Quick start
Start the first stage and read the dialogue. Use the D-pad to guide Anna up the reachable ledges towards the door, then press X to switch to Ben and bring him through as well. In later rooms, check both routes before pushing a block. Press L to inspect the grid, and use Quicksave in the pause menu before testing a risky sequence.
Controls
Move with the D-pad and press X to switch Anna/Ben. Press L to show the planning grid. Use directional movement to approach blocks and climb reachable ledges, following the displayed prompts for mechanisms. You cannot jump or pull blocks back. The pause menu contains Quicksave and Quickload for returning to a saved point within the stage.
Puzzle Expedition — About this game
Anna's search for her missing father becomes a series of carefully ordered room puzzles with guide Ben. Both must reach the exit, so a helpful step for one explorer can be a dead end for the other. Blocks can be pushed but not pulled, and the pair climb within the grid's limits rather than jumping freely. Later mechanisms add magnetic boxes, switches, lifts, teleporters and fragile surfaces to the planning. Large layouts can span both DS screens, making it useful to inspect the whole route before moving a block against a wall. The DS version uses buttons: you can switch character, reveal the grid and preserve a promising position with Quicksave. The first lesson is to think about both return routes before changing the room, then build a sequence that brings the two travellers to safety.
