How to Play Ridge Racer DS
Quick start
Create or select a game file, choose Quick Play and learn a novice lap with automatic transmission. Then try Grand Prix or Time Attack and inspect the car statistics.
Controls
Default: D-pad left/right steers, A accelerates, B brakes, SELECT changes camera and START pauses. With manual transmission R shifts up and L down. Options offers alternative touch steering setups; follow the selected configuration.
Ridge Racer DS — About this game
Begin with Quick Play for two laps on the novice Ridge Racer course, then move into Grand Prix with an available car and track. Wins open further stages, and Car Attack later lets you beat a stronger rival to earn its car. Time Attack removes the field so you can practise a line and improve records. Compare acceleration, handling and grip before choosing speed alone: less grip makes drifting easier but changes corner control. The original DS supports a separate local race for up to six; start with solo practice to learn braking and steering.
